The studio announced a deal with Tuff Gong Collective, a joint venture between Universal Music Group (UMG) and NY Times bestselling author Cedella Marley, to develop and produce an animated series based on Marley’s new picture book Marley and the Family Band (Random House).

Disney launched “Rise Up, Sing Out,” a short-form animated musical series that aims to deliver inspiring, empowering and optimistic messages about culture and celebrating differences. The series was a collaboration between Disney, The Roots, and Lion Forge Animation.
